RSPCA Finally Speaking About The Dangers of Pugs

 I awoke to an email from RSPCA this morning and noticed that it mentioned pugs, and because I've just done a project on the health problems associated with pugs I was instantly interested.

When I opened the link there was a quiz about how much you know pug health problems and it asked you after if you wanted to get a pug now knowing the problems associated with them.

Personally I don't agree with the breeding of brachycephalic breeds, and I don't agree what pugs are part of the kennel club, as they are not the most healthiest dogs.

Pugs suffer from a mountain of problems such as;

  • brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome
  • eye problems 
  • cancers such as melanoma 
  • skin fold infections
  • gait problems 
  • and much more
There is the age old argument that retro pugs are more ethical than classic pugs, and after deep research retro pugs share many problems with classic pugs except brachycephalic problems. 

In conclusion, I am glad that big welfare companies are speaking out about unhealthy breeds, and hopefully in the future animal welfare standards will rise dramatically. 
Please do your part and sign petitions that you agree with on animal welfare and keep up the good fight!

After my project has been marked by the exam board, I will release my website about the health problems of pugs which has all my research.

Why I will Never Be Vegan

 I applaud veganism, the act of not eating/using animal products as a protest for animal welfare. If I could go vegan I definitely would! The only problem is that I am autistic AF and have always struggled with my diet, some may call it ARFID but I just call it being a funny bugger. The thing is I am repulsed by food I haven't tried, but I can't try it due to that reason. Ever since I was a toddler and I developed this attitude towards food my diet consists of chicken, pork, some beef, potato, and sweets. The only veg I eat is potato and I can't stand the texture of fruit, that is something I have tried but was instantly repulsed, I also tired kelp because my hamsters were trying it and honestly it tasted like garden weeds!! If I stopped eating meat, my health would deteriorate as I wouldn't be getting my correct nutritional needs, I currently take vitamins but they aren't enough for my body. A Bit About Me!

 Hi, I'm Evelyn! I am currently 25 years old and last year I decided to go back to college and take a course on animal management. At first I wanted to be a veterinary nurse, but after learning about legislation I now want to be in the animal welfare sector such as inspecting and rescuing.  I am a mumma to two hamsters and a crested gecko, my hamsters are Reginald who is nearly two years old and Pumpkin who is 2 years and 3 months old. My Gecko is Gizmo and she is 1 year and 3 months old. I live in the midlands in the UK but I originally grew up in Yorkshire and moved here to be with my partner.
